OPTICAL MEMS SOLUTIONS
Since 1999 Sercalo Microtechnology Ltd. supplies optical MEMS solutions to the Fiber Optic Industry. Sercalo is the market leader in MEMS components for optical Test and Measurement and Network surveillance. Sercalo products, including Fiber Optic Switches, Attenuators and Tunable Filters, are the solution of choice where high reliability and long-term stability are required. In recent years, new designs of Micro-Mirrors for beam steering and scanning were introduced. Such MEMS mirrors are used in Optical scanning Sensors such as Optical Coherence Tomography, scanning LiDARs for autonomous driving and inter-satellite communication to name just a few.
MEMS SWITCHES
Sercalo’s optical MEMS switches are proposed in single mode, multimode or PM fibers, at wavelengths from 600 μm up to 1600 μm, latching or non-latching.
Their extremely high reliability matches with demanding applications in Telecom, Datacom, Sensor Networks, Instruments, Test and Measurement.
MEMS MIRRORS
Sercalo produces MEMS Micro mirrors. Electrostatic driven MEMS mirrors are conceived for applications with high pointing stability requirements. It's best suited in applications where small size and low power consumption are important. What’s your application?
Sercalo proposes a "CUSTOM SERVICE" for production of MEMS MICRO MIRRORS.
TUNABLE FILTERS
Sercalo proposes tunable filters for 100GHz and 50GHz ITU grid for reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers or spectroscopic applications. Available bands are O, C and L bands.
The miniature package (1.5 cm3) withstands rugged environments.
FOA
FIBER OPTICAL ACCELEROMETER
Sercalo manufactures fiber optical accelerometers in which the displacement of a MEMS seismic mass is converted into an optical signal, proportional to the acceleration, and transferred by an optical fiber to the remote electronics.
The sensor head is packaged either in stainless steel or ceramic material (MACOR) housing. The sensor is conceived for harsh environment.
VARIABLE OPTICAL ATTENUATORS
Sercalo's VOA (Variable Optical Attenuators) is based on an electrostatic MEMS mirror. The miniature package is one of the smallest in the industry. It is optimized for low cost production while maintaining high reliability comparable to a solid state device.
Long term stability and excellent reliability are assured by using laser welding techniques for the component assembly.
